The Introduction about my paper

As early as 1562, there was an English navigator, john Hawkins, who procured at least 300 slaves from the West Indies and sold them to exchanged rich raw materials for his country. This can be the first slaves’ trade in the world. (History of Slavery) After this, Slavery went to American, and according to Article “History of Slavery”, it mentioned “The first slaves were introduced into the English-American colonies by a Dutch trader, who, in 1619, sold twenty of them to the settlers at Jamestown, Va. After that the trade between North America and Africa was carried on quite vigorously; but some of the colonies remonstrated, and in the Continental Congress, and also in the public mind, there was a strong desire evinced to abolish the slave-trade.” There were a few slaves went to a town of the United States firstly. But soon after, slave’s trade stated strong between North American and Africa. There were still had some organizations and individual against slavery although it was very popular at that time. When the development of slavery was in full swing, North and South American had become increasingly controversial. Therefore, the Civil War was coming. During the Civil War, the slavery viewed differently in the north than in the south, because it was an important role played in the three areas—the economic development, the control of the territories and political competition.

  1. I like the history of slavery, but there is too much other stuff between it and the thesis statement. After the Jamestown sentence, you might take out everything before the thesis statement, but add a sentence before it about slavery being one of the issues that led to the break-up of the United States. Then you thesis.
